25 Years of Community Support!

Need to whet your whistle? Enjoy a libation while providing donation to the Culinary Arts Promotion Association (C.A.P.A.) when you visit the various beer gardens and Wine Tasting exhibit in the Rose Garden at Point Defiance Park during the 2010 Taste of Tacoma®.   A portion of beer garden proceeds benefit the C.A.P.A. recipient, Bates Technical College.  Funds provide scholarships to students in the schools Culinary Arts Program.

Culinary Arts at Bates Technical College offers a unique experience. A student’s first year is focused on learning the basics of handling equipment and preparing food at the South Campus. The second year student moves to Downtown Campus where specialties & food preparation skills are advanced in preparation for entering a career as a chef.  C.A.P.A. is proud to support this great program.

The Taste of Tacoma® will celebrate 25 years at Point Defiance Park this coming summer!  The Taste has worked closely in its partnership with Metro Parks Tacoma to ensure outstanding stewardship of one of the city’s most prestigious parks as well as providing free, fun, family entertainment to the Tacoma community.  The Taste also provides revenue to Metro Parks Tacoma, creating a strong partnership that has been the foundation of a successful 25 years!  Don’t miss out on all of the special festivities planned for the Taste’s 25th Birthday Celebration!
