Parking is available at the Taste in the Funland parking lot, across the street from Point Defiance Park. The cost is $10 per car, so pack the car and come on down. Limited parking is available for individuals with disabilities after 11 a.m. daily inside the Park. Follow the signs just left of the Funland Parking lot.
SAVE MONEY ON PARKING! Ride Pierce Transitís Taste Express straight to the Emerald Queen Casinoís Taste of Tacoma! Buses will depart from Tacoma Community College every 15 minutes and head straight to Point Defiance Park. Service will run on Friday and Saturday from 10:30am to 9:30pm and on Sunday from 10:30am to 8:30pm. Regular Pierce Transit fares are charged on the Taste Express. Fares are $2.00 per trip for adults, $0.75 youth 18 and under and also for riders showing a Regional Reduced Fare Permit. Riders should bring exact change or an ORCA card as drivers do not carry change. Up to four children (13 and under) may ride free with a fare-paying passenger. If you're coming from Vashon on the ferry, we recommend you walk on and ride the ferry across if you are able. If you choose to drive, please be advised that you'll have to follow the flow of traffic up Pearl Street, turn around, and then proceed back down Pearl Street to access the parking lot. If you choose to walk onto the ferry, there is a hill to climb to get to the park, which may pose some issue for those in wheelchairs or who have mobility issues.
Directions from I-5: Take the Gig Harbor/Hwy 16 exit. Pass Cheney Stadium exit 6th Ave. Go left at light, take 1st right on Pearl St. Follow Pearl St. to Point Defiance Park. You will turn right on 54th St. (just past the Antique Sandwich Shop) to enter parking lot. Look for signs - "Taste Parking." Point Defiance Parkís many businesses and attractions are open during the Taste. When looking for a place to park at the event, please be respectful of these establishments, their clientele and employees, and refrain from parking in their lots.
